A is for A1C, or glycosylated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c ), which provides a snapshot of your blood sugars over the past two to three months. It measures in percentage how well your blood sugars have been managed.

B is for blood pressure. Nearly 2 of 3 people with diabetes report having high blood pressure or taking prescription medications to lower their blood pressure.

Kidney Care

Have you been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease?

Do you have high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, smoking, and a family history of kidney disease?

Has your doctor mentioned dialysis or is preparing you for dialysis?

Do you have frequent or occasional kidney stones?

If your response to any of the above questions is YES, we will provide a comprehensive nutritional assessment that goes through your medical and nutritional history to create a personalized plan that works just for you. We will arm you with relevant tools to better manage your chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Did you know?

Approximately 37 million American adults have chronic kidney disease (CKD) and millions of others are not even aware of it. According to the Centers for Disease Control, CKD is the 9th leading cause of death in the U.S., killing more people than breast cancer or prostate cancer.

The two modifiable risk factors for injured kidneys are unmanaged diabetes and high blood pressure along with family history. If you are at risk for kidney damage, it is best to consult with your physician to discuss two important tests that can indicate kidney function - ACR and GFR which stand for “albumin-to-creatinine ratio and Glomerular Filtration Rate.

Early intervention may prevent the progression of chronic kidney disease or kidney failure. Nutrition therapy plays a vital role in managing your kidneys' health. The kidney diet is customized for your unique nutritional goals and lifestyle.

Weight Management

Are you tired of the constant dieting and then you regain the weight that you lose and some more?

Are you feeling stuck in the weight plateau?

Are you interested in a weight loss program that is sustainable and simple?

Have you tried many of the diets on the market with no success?

If your response to any of the above questions is YES, we will provide a comprehensive nutritional assessment that goes through your medical and nutritional history to create a personalized plan that works just for you. We will arm you with relevant tools for healthy living and a weight-loss plan.

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the prevalence of obesity in adults has increased to almost 43% among men and women of similar age groups. Obesity-related conditions can lead to heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer, which are among the leading causes of preventable, premature death.

There is hope and help! Nearly 50% of adults have attempted to lose weight and the number continues to rise. The percentage is higher in women (56.4%) than men (41.7%) who tried to lose weight.

Yet, weight loss of 5 -10% of your total body weight can lead to substantial health benefits, with improvements in blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure.
