Celebrating National Nutrition Month

By Hescott Nutrition Services | posted in February, 2020 | National Nutrition Month, Healthful, Physical activity, Health, Wellness

March is quickly approaching and it's National Nutrition Month, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics celebrates healthful eating and physical activity to promote weight control and prevent chronic disease. This month is a great time to reflect on how you're eating - and how you could make some improvements. Rather than looking for answers in the latest fad diet, try improving your overall choices by developing sound eating and physical activity habits. Eating healthy is adaptable and can be tailored to your personal, cultural, and traditional preferences. Try eating real, whole and nutrient-dense foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat or fat-free dairy. And remember to incorporate lean proteins like chicken, fish, eggs, tofu, and tempeh, just to name a few.

The theme for National Nutrition Month 2020 is Eat Right, Bite by Bite. For this month only, you will receive a blog post every two weeks spotlighting a nutrition related topic to help you on your health and wellness journey.
